Please note: assignment can only run if minimum candidate numbers are meet. STAGE TWO: all candidates for stage two must first stage with one year. Stage two interview may take place at a venue arrange for the purpose or more likely will be undertaking remotely as a video conference the interview will split between two section -expert /specialized / professional. The panel will comprise of undergraduate assess drown from a pool of expert peers from the society and would include one expert with the candidate specialized. COST AND FEES The application administration fee $75 for stage one and should be paid when application completed form are submitted to membership or contact or accredited partners. Stage two fee of $175 is require to be paid in full at least 7 days prior to the assignment date. Following the successful award of CHFP the membership subscription is an annual fee of $50. ABOUT US

The AMERICAN SOCIETY OF FORENSIC PRACTITIONERS is a non govermental organisation REGISTERED 2019 based in TACOMA USA The current president PROF NIEL WILLIAM and the vice president PROF Gregory NATHENIEL. The ASFP is a multi-disciplinary professional organization that provides leadership to advance science and its application to the legal system. Despite the name, the ASFP has members from over 30 countries, and the current Chapter President is from TACOMA The objectives of the ASFP are to promote professionalism, integrity, competency, education, foster research, improve practice, and encourage collaboration in the forensic sciences.The ASFPFS has established several other organizations to further professionalism within the forensic sciences, including the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission (FEPAC) to accredit collegiate forensic science education programs, and the Academy Standards Board (ASB) to develop and promulgate standards for areas of the forensic sciences without a standards/ the president in his speech

I am deeply honoured to step into the role of President of the America Society of Forensic practitioners. First and foremost, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our previous presidents for their dedication, leadership, and commitment to advancing our society’s mission.

As we begin this new chapter together, I am enthusiastic about what lies ahead. One of my primary goals is to continue fostering membership engagement and networking opportunities within the forensic community. Our society thrives on the active participation of its members, and I encourage each of you to engage fully in our activities and initiatives either by volunteering for different committees, attending events or presenting a webinar where we can support those leading and learn from our peers. By facilitating connections and collaboration among members, we can collectively advance our shared interests and expertise in our field. American society of forensic practitioners is dedicated to support all its members in their quality ma

Originally ASFP was later it now boast a worldwide membership and is the main professional body
for forensic practitioners, academic research and is related professional in the USA and is considere
d to be the international voice of forensic science.
In 2004 the society became a professional body and voice of forensic practitioners both in USA an
d abroad. It was in 2019 that the society was granted a ROYAL cluster and became America society
of forensic practitioners. It is a registered clarity not for profit whose structure is clearly laid out in c
harter and bye law.
ACCREDITION

QUALIFICATION AND ACADEMIA
The society supports and encourages, educate and learning within forensic arenathrough our E
ducational Quality Standard Schemes whereby university courses containing forensic elements c
an become accredited. Graduates from the courses may become Associates. This is seen as the
first step on the ladder to working towards members and where appropriate to work towards a f
orensic practitioner status.
INTERNATIONAL FORENSIC VOICE
ASFP has over 4000 members. We are an international body and become members from allarea
s of the world. We work in colla boration with international forensic societies and publication of
science and justice is circulated worldwide. We are dynamic, forward looking society which provi
des a forensic voice not only in USA, but internationally.

Council is America society of forensic practitioners overseen bya committeе
of trustees, known as council. They are led by the president in conjunction wit
h immediate past president or the president elect (next president).
Members of ASFP council are trustees and subject to the responsibilities outl
ined cc3 the essential trustee, what you agree to know.
All those who sit on must be professional level members of the society (FCSF
S, MCSFS) council members will typically be engaged in many activities, such
as sitting on committees, covering conferences and developing policy. The co
uncil members all work close to ensure value and visit ion of society of the soc
iety are met.

Accreditation
Pre-Application

Prior to an application being submitted, there are two opportunities available to an institution – a pre-application call (free of charge) and a pre-application visit (chargeable).

Please contact the office before submitting an application.

Application

To apply for educational accreditation, you need to complete an application form, plus the Component Standard Matrix for each component standard in which you are seeking educational accreditation.

The core component standard matrix, Interpretation, Evaluation & Presentation of Evidence (IEPE) must be completed and at least one other preferably two other component standards.

Component Standards

The component standards have recently been reviewed resulting in amendments to the following matrices:-

Interpretation, Evaluation and Presentation of Evidence (IEPE)
Laboratory Analysis (LA)
Crime Scene Investigation (CSI)
Forensic Anthropology (FAnth)
Forensic Archaeology (FArch)
The following component standard was only reviewed in 2021:-

November 2022-21 May 2024

Institutions with existing programmes accredited as part of the Educational Quality Standards Scheme can be assessed against EITHER the component standards IEPE, LA, CSI (v2017-1) and FAnth and FArch (v2016-1) OR the new component standards matrices (2022-v1).

Institutions can re-map against the newly published component standard matrices (2022-v1) at any point during the 6-year cycle. Following re-mapping the institution will be assessed against the new component standard matrices at the next visit (surveillance or accreditation).

New applications for educational accreditation should be mapped against the new component standard matrices (2022-v1). Applications currently in progress should contact either Claire Stay or Katharine Sowerby to discuss.

1 June 2024 onwards

Institutions with existing programmes accredited as part of the Educational Quality Standards Scheme can ONLY be assessed against the new component standard matrices (2022-v1).

NEW applications for Educational Accreditation MUST be assessed against the new component standard matrices (2022-v1).

By 1 November 2025

ALL institutions must have been assessed against the revised component standard matrices (2022-v1) and MUST have undertaken a review or visit (either paper surveillance, surveillance or reaccreditation).
